Philly Running Alliance
Uniting a local running community
Philly Running Alliance is a non-profit with a mission to unite and advocate for Philly's more than 60 running clubs (as well as all the lone wolves out there). Re-named and re-formed in 2025, their transformation required a fresh visual identity. I teamed up with members of their board to create a new look that'll keep them moving forward for the long haul.

Their story begins in 2015 with the founding of the Philly Mayor's Cup, an annual series of races held at Belmont Plateau, featuring a day of friendly competition between city-based running clubs. With their transition from an organization that manages a day of local races to an official non-profit dedicated to advocating for safe and inclusive running in the city, they needed a new look that was friendly and approachable, but would also allow them to be taken seriously in their mission.

With a fast-approaching event at which they were launching the new name and identity, we hit the ground running. Through a design brief and a few conversations, we determined that they preferred a mark that felt authentic rather than elite, but was also professional enough to represent well in their advocacy work with local officials and organization efforts, all while looking unmistakably Philly.
